lyrics
Stop to focus, stop the focus
Eyes always watching, always watching eyes
Back and forth and back and forth
I’m building up to your demise
Well I can taste you in the back of my mind
Lingering on the inside, where you can never hide
I dug you up to fall asleep
Your bodies frail and weak but your dress is complete
As I sink between your lips and teeth
I can feel where your soul used to be
I dug you up to fall asleep, your bodies frail and weak
Your picture always painted in the back of my mind
I always said you’re never hard to find
All alone, follow her, all night long, not alone
Remember she said we would be never
What have I done, what did you find
Smell of death, a swarm of flies
Maggots raining from your own eyes
Choking on your blood falling from your face
Try to speak to me as if I never knew this place
What have I done, tell me
What did you find, show me
Smell of death, well that’s like a swarm of flies
Tied to the end of everything I knew
Try to speak to me as if I’d ever rescue you
Quite possibly the most full-on album I've ever listened to. Intense, and then some. 'Digital Tarpit' could describe both the track and the whole album: high-pitched guitar squeals that make your fillings itch coupled with merciless, suffocating heaviness. The Avenell-esque vocals top it off perfectly.
Brilliant - punishing, but brilliant. jim_fuego
